Remote Operated Lights for Lazy Me!

In my Sophomore year I shared my Dorm room with a room-mate who was lazier than me! As a result, we would often argue about whose turn it is to switch off the light before sleeping. Now it is a proven fact that the laziest engineers come with solutions that add value to human lives!
Drawing inspiration from that fact I decided to solve our problem once and for all, and that is when I came up with the idea of getting one of those fancy remote controlled lights which lets the user operate all the lights in the room with a single remote control. But buying these accessories was not an option since they were so expensive, so like any other normal engineer would do, I decided to make one myself.
I brushed up on my 'Fundamentals of Electronic Circuits' and started looking for electronic components in electronic repair shops. I found all the components I needed at a scrap value and I put together an electronic circuit that did the same job like those fancy Remote Operated Lights at a tenth of the price!
I call it Lazy Me! because it aptly describes the potential customer base this product would have!
Needless to say, my room-mate and I never fought on the 'switching off the lights' issue again!
