My Roles & Responsibilities for this Project:
1. Carrying out Industry and Market Research (5C and 4P Analysis).
2. Conducting customer surveys to understand the needs of the customers.
3. Designing products to meet those needs
4. Studying Rules & Regulations by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) regarding ISI mark.
5. Applying for Industrial Trade Licenses.
6. Negotiating with Suppliers for striking the best deals.
7. Designing factory layout.
8. Designing manufacturing process model.
9. Supervising construction of factory and installation of machines.
10. Managing Supply Chain for maintaining smooth flow of operations.
11. Developing and Executing Promotional and Marketing Strategy.
12. Supervising Sales and Distribution
13. Managing Finances.
I am so attached and vested in this venture that I can't joke about it. Heads up, this is going to be a bit dry. Biswas Industries Pvt. Ltd. is a water purification plant based in West - Bengal, India. Founded in October 2014, my start-up manufactures and markets 5 gallon water jugs in the sub-urban towns surrounding Kolkata, the capital city of West- bengal. Households in these areas still lack reliable drinking water lines, and in spite of this people avoided using water jugs.
After talking to the residents I discovered that the primary reason for these people not using water jugs was that the water dispensers (which are used to dispense water from the jugs) were very costly. So I came up with a simple solution that eliminates the need to buy the expensive dispenser.
Today, approximately 90% of the households in these sub-urban towns use Queis!
