Jaldhara - Free Drinking Water Supply for Rural Villages
Subhash Gram is a remote village in the state of Maharashtra, India that is devoid of regular clean drinking water supply. Under my father's guidance, I collaborated with local politicians to raise funds and installed a self-sustainable refrigerated purified drinking water dispenser at the heart of this village.
This unit, located in the densely populated market area, serves as a common location for community members to gather and get access to water.
By being involved in this venture, the local politicians gained positive popularity among the villagers, and that motivated them to invest capital and support the cause. On the other hand, the villagers volunteered to conduct periodic hygienic maintenance of the unit and ensure its uninterrupted service.
Thus, with a little nudge and direction, the community came together to solve their water crisis!
